Work in Tokyo under Quarantine, COVID-19; 23rd week (on September 5, 2020)

Continuing from last week, the number of new positive cases in Japan has been slightly decreasing. Which is very good news. On the other hand, the 10th Typhoon of the season, one of the strongest on record, is about to hit Okinawa and Kyushu tomorrow. Some railways in Kyushu already decided to suspend their services deliberately tomorrow and the next day in order to minimize their damages from the typhoon.

Flood control measurement in Kyushu isn't good enough, so some floods and landslides happen almost every time when typhoon comes. Which means, many residents are required to evacuate to designated local shelters, such as a gymnasium in school. Though it is said to avoid crowded places with poor ventilation, concerning COVID-19. I wonder something like this is happening all over the world since typhoons are becoming more active than before and not only the typhoon, but the gathering is taken place more often with economical activity increase lately.

Furthermore, I heard volunteers from urban areas are not preferred because the ratio of Corona infection is high in urban areas. Usually, those volunteers help to repair the flooded house by visiting every house, and their contribution is essential to get back to normal life soon.

I once again realized the fact that Corona destroyed easily our help-each-other system that we all proud and built over many years. And I hope nothing bad will be caused by the 10th Typhoon.
