What is the representative retort-pouch to you? For me, it's a retort curry. It has more than a half-century of history as top runner of this kind in Japan and I can never underestimate its taste. The complexity of flavors and bigger size of vegetables are getting close to a real dish of restaurant. Additionally, many new attractive products come to market every year.
Nowadays retort soups also have a wide variety, such as corn potage, clam chowder, borsch, and more. Having compared with other well-known easy meal, powdered soups, almost everything is perfect. The only complaint I have is the high price, 3 to 5 dollars each. I would feel more comfortable with little more lower price.
I have been working from home since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Tons of work have arrogated my time and made my lunch miserable. Retort meals have become the Savior of my lunchtime nowadays not only because of their easiness, but its rich'n real flavor with herbs, spices meticulously measured and cooked like real-restaurant-dish-level enjoyable-taste. My lunch seems to be fulfilled for a while!
